The New 2018 Product Launch!!

I have some exciting news to share with you guys! Last week, Norwex announced the release of some awesome new products – check them out below!

NEW PRODUCT: Microfiber Cleaner/Laundry Booster (available in October) – I am super excited about this product! As you all know, our microfiber cloths pick up a TON of junk and bacteria. Over time, build up may cause your cloths to smell a bit funky. In the past my favorite way to deep clean my cloths was to boil a pot of water, add a scoop of laundry detergent and let them soak overnight. Not anymore!! Norwex knew about that issue and released this new Microfiber Cleaner! Instead of having to boil water and let your cloths soak overnight, you just need to add a scoop of Microfiber Cleaner to a bowl of warm water and let soak for 30 MINUTES! This Microfiber Cleaner is also a Laundry Booster so if you have any incredibly dirty clothes, you can add it in with your regular load of clothes and detergent and it will remove yucky stains and odors.

NEWLY FORMULATED Laundry Detergents – Norwex has made their detergents even more concentrated, to last even longer for you! Click HERE for more details on the laundry soap!

Making a HUGE Impact with just a Little Cloth (change)

Today I want to share about the AMAZING Counter Cloths! These cloths can be used just like an Enviro Cloth, but their main goal is to cut down (or completely replace) use of paper towels. These guys are great in your kitchen for so many reasons. They come in a variety of colors to match your own kitchen. The microfiber is textured in a way that maximizes the amount of liquid/food/dirt/etc the cloth can pick up. Anything that you usually grab a paper towel for, these guys can be used instead! They are even shaped just like a half sheet of an average paper towel used for wiping up messes – but these cloths pick up so much more mess, and bacteria, than a regular paper towel. Not only do the Counter Cloths do a better job cleaning (did I mention they remove 99% of bacteria using only the cloth and water?!), but they can really make a wonderful impact on our planet. Did you know 13 billion pounds of paper towels are used each year? That’s over 45 pounds of paper towels per person, per year. Holy cow that’s a lot!

My family decided to totally replace paper towel use with Norwex products instead, and the Counter Cloth is definitely one of my favorites in the kitchen. Maybe your family is not ready to completely stop using paper towels, then maybe you could consider this – 544,000 trees could be saved each year if each US household used JUST ONE LESS roll of paper towels! We can make a huge difference in our environment just by slowly replacing our habits. I challenge you to say no to at least one (or more) rolls of paper towels and use these awesome Counter Cloths instead!

INTENSE IMPACT!

I’m floored by this number and completely overwhelmed in an abundant way. $5,557,116 is the amount in Norwex sales that my team sold in the last 12 months. What does this number mean to me you may wonder? It means that roughly 70,000 homes were changed with Norwex and people on my Save Haven team earned 1.9 million in commission to help their families’ budgets! When I joined Norwex 6 years ago, the thought of the impact that it would all make never crossed my mind…I just didn’t know the potential of it all. There is no limit to the positive change that this gift can make on homes and the environment. I’m humbled and grateful for my family, team, customers, hostesses and Jesus for turning my “mess” into my “message”.

I’m overwhelmed at what we have accomplished and by what STILL needs to happen. People are flocking to the store for toxic cleaners everyday…not knowing what it’s all doing to their families. We have a gift in our home that we cannot keep to ourselves. One home at a time. It’s amazing how each home adds up to more and more and then the impact grows in intensity. Never tried Norwex? I challenge you to give it a whirl to replace one toxic item at a time.

Little Hippo

My 6th born has acquired the nickname of “Little Hippo”. When he hears this name called from afar, a smile soon appears on his sweet face. I feel like I learn more and more about chemicals with each baby that I have. Like the fact that tt only takes 26 seconds for the chemicals in personal care products to enter the bloodstream! That is CRAZY to me! Please guys, read the label on everything that you put on your baby, your children, and on YOU. There are alternatives out there that don’t cause more work for you and keep you little people healthier.

From day 1, we have used the Norwex Baby Cloths on our Little Hippo. This is a mini version of the Body Cloths. This soft microfiber will gently clean skin without needing soap (it even removes makeup really well with only water!). During dry winter months, I like to use Shea Butter on his skin where I notice any dry patches. Using a safe and clear laundry detergent is also SO important for little people skin! Know what’s in your detergent! That’s pretty much it! See, not complicated!

It doesn’t need to be more expensive and harder to be safer with what you use in our home and on our bodies. Make baby steps to improve the quality of life around you and your children will watch you as you grow in this. Happy May and Happy Safe Havens!

Instilling Helpfulness in Kids

It’s my job as a mom to teach my kids how to be productive, diligent, and have hearts that aim to serve others before themselves. They need to be prepared and ready for the world when the time comes and my husband and I aim to equip them one day at a time, one lesson at a time, and one hug and pat on the back a time. I will say that it’s a huge process that does not happen overnight! I am the first to admit that I have lost my patience in my heart more times than one when facing a 5-year-old with a bad attitude or a lazy 10-year-old that leaves her junk scattered all over the place. Teaching my children how to change their heart attitude has been a personal growing experience for myself, as God gently shows me the issues in my own heart that need pruning.

Over the last 11 years of being a mom, I have learned that patient encouragement goes a long way. Explaining the heart behind WHY we all help in our family and why we take care of our space to be good stewards of what we’ve been given is important. Here are some tips that have helped me manage my busy home and ways the kids help in our home:

  1. Do chores together! I used to wait until nap time or nighttime to clean the house. No more. We all do our chores TOGETHER.
  2. Teach age appropriate chores and have the child do them repeatedly. When my kids complain about doing a specific chore, I tell them that they will do their task until 1. They learn to master it and 2. They learn to master it with a happy heart.
  3. Have a chore system in your home. There are so many to implement and I have tried several. For my family, a simple chore chart works best. I wrote about how I go about my system here: Start Em While they are Young Part 1 and Start Em While they are Young Part 2
  4. Work before Play. We work hard and then play hard.
  5. Praise Praise Praise!

A very wise woman that successfully raised nine children once told me her story of how she flopped herself down on the couch one day, exhausted after mothering her then four children. She said that she needed to change something in her home. She was led to this book .

I don’t want my children to grow up with an entitled attitude or a heart that is ruled by instant gratification and pleasure. Starting with honestly examining our own hearts, and then helping our children to be servants of others will bring more fulfillment and positive change in our world.
