Today I want to share about the AMAZING Counter Cloths! These cloths can be used just like an Enviro Cloth, but their main goal is to cut down (or completely replace) use of paper towels. These guys are great in your kitchen for so many reasons. They come in a variety of colors to match your own kitchen. The microfiber is textured in a way that maximizes the amount of liquid/food/dirt/etc the cloth can pick up. Anything that you usually grab a paper towel for, these guys can be used instead! They are even shaped just like a half sheet of an average paper towel used for wiping up messes – but these cloths pick up so much more mess, and bacteria, than a regular paper towel. Not only do the Counter Cloths do a better job cleaning (did I mention they remove 99% of bacteria using only the cloth and water?!), but they can really make a wonderful impact on our planet. Did you know 13 billion pounds of paper towels are used each year? That’s over 45 pounds of paper towels per person, per year. Holy cow that’s a lot!
My family decided to totally replace paper towel use with Norwex products instead, and the Counter Cloth is definitely one of my favorites in the kitchen. Maybe your family is not ready to completely stop using paper towels, then maybe you could consider this – 544,000 trees could be saved each year if each US household used JUST ONE LESS roll of paper towels! We can make a huge difference in our environment just by slowly replacing our habits. I often get the question from people “what cloth for what job??” at my parties. Especially when it comes to kitchen cleaning. Norwex offers an array of cloths/products for our homes but this is not to over complicate matters. Once we know what jobs we need to target in our homes we can choose the appropriate cloth. This lovely chart clearly breaks it down for you. My must haves that I use in my home very regularly to clean include the Enviro (think Everything!) cloth, window cloth, dusting mitt, kitchen cloths/towels, bathroom scrub mitt, and the dish cloth (not listed in the chart). 
Oh those never ending dishes! We all need to eat to live which inevitably causes many dirty dishes in the process . Before Norwex, dealing with our stinky dish sponge (or cloth) wasn’t fun. I felt like it always smelled nasty no matter what I did! Bacteria LOVES living in those damp, soapy, covered-in-food-bits sponges/dish rags which causes the odor.
The solution? You have to try the Dish Cloth! The Dish Cloth is a netted nylon cloth used either folded or scrunched up. Simply use wet with your dish liquid. I have had mine for almost three years and it’s still going strong (saving me tons of $ on sponges and stink hassle). I try to give one away at my Norwex parties because this cloth is SO used in my home!

What are your thoughts on the netted dish cloth?
I wanted to test the effectiveness of the Norwex cloth right in my very own kitchen. Norwex claims that their cloths remove all contaminants from a surface with just water but the science in me wanted to conduct my own experiment and compare Norwex with other popular cleaners. First I smeared raw chicken all over the counter and then cleaned the surface with each cleaner. I used a ProClean testing swab (a protein testing strip used by the food industry to test for surface cleanliness) to see if the surface was truly clean. The color on the swab indicates how contaminated my counter still was after using the specified cleaner (Here is a graph showing how the test swabs indicate whether or not there is protein left on the surface)
As you can see, GREEN is clean and contaminant free and any shade of grey or purple means there is still protein on the surface. Here are my findings:
There was only ONE completely green swab…the Norwex cloth and WATER! Norwex truly leaves a clean and residue free surface without the nasty smelly chemicals. Why waste $$ on that other stuff when it doesn’t even work effectively??
New to Norwex? These are my favorites for people just getting started and while using them (and eliminating tons of useless cleaners), you can be assured that they are truly cleaning your home effectively!
